A thriving arts sector is of crucial importance to restoring the health of the economy as well as the spiritual well-being of the Far North.

The Bay of Islands Creative Charitable Trust rely on support from individuals and businesses as well as grants, to ensure we can continue to help the Far North be a thriving arts region in New Zealand.

For us to play our part we need your sponsorship, donations and volunteer hours. So, become a supporter of The Trust and help us continue supporting artists in the Far North to achieve their artistic ambitions.

The Bay of Islands Creative Charitable Trust is a registered charity and a not-for-profit (your donation may be tax deductible). This means any money we earn goes directly into supporting the regions artists and funding artistic events and endeavours.

How The Trust Can Support You

In the future, once grant applications are open, applications by Far North artists will be handled on a case-by-case basis with no guarantee that a grant will be provided, regardless of merit.

Grants might include cash or in-kind support.  No projects are funded in full.

WHO AND WHAT WE FUND
• Emerging New Zealand artists whose work is highly likely to have a significant impact on the landscape of cross-disciplinary arts
• Established New Zealand artists whose work demonstrates significant development in their careers
• Events and projects which support and present the above and expand an audience for the arts in New Zealand

WHAT WILL NOT GENERALLY BE FUNDED
• Retrospective projects
• Incomplete applications or those not meeting the criteria
• Crowd funding campaigns
• Applications lodged within 12 months of the provision of a grant
• Capital purchase such as IT, instruments, equipment

CRITERIA
Strategic Fit:
• How will the project encourage or showcase Far North artists?
• How would an investment assist in the career development Far North emerging artists?
• How will the project expose New Zealanders to Far North art or increase their enjoyment of the arts?
Viability:
• Is the project  worthy and is the idea  strong?
• Are the people involved in it credible?
• Is the timeframe reasonable?
• Is the budget reasonable?
Accountability/Evaluation:
• Evidence that the project was delivered
• Evidence that the Bay of Islands Creative Charitable Trust was acknowledged as agreed
