Bay of Islands Creative Charitable Trust

The vision of the Bay of Islands Creative Charitable Trust is to build a stronger and more resilient art sector in the Far North (and Northland) region, to help sustain and promote the careers and actviities of Far North District artists and to support, promote and give exposure to artists, art practitioners, galleries and art groups and to encourage art tourism.

Our mission is to provide an overarching umbrella under which all arts events and activities in the Mid and Far North regions can find support and expertise assisting to ensure a sustainable future for the arts and artistic community in this area.

We are dedicated to nurturing the creation and development of the arts in all of its wide range of media and forms. The Trust encourages individual and group creativity.

Important strategies include the ongoing commitment to continuing and expanding the successful KOAST – Tai Tokerau Art Trail, the development of a community art gallery and the launch of a Youth Arts Prize in conjunction with the Mid and Far North schools.  Research has been undertaken into both of these initiative with the assistance of Lotteries funding.

The Bay of Islands Creative Charitable Trust is a registered New Zealand charitable trust.
